 | Malec Earns August's Top Batter Prize in WF Friday, September 1st , 1916 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 19 Ben Malec has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young St. Paul Crusaders star can enjoy the numbers he put up in August, which have garnered him the nod as the Western Federation Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .411 average with 2 home runs, 25 RBIs and 18 runs scored. Currently Malec is hitting .319 and has collected 9 home runs, 75 RBIs and scored 60 times, while playing in 129 games. |   |
