 | Pioneers Lose Freeman for Season Thursday, August 31st , 1916 A blow for Bucky Freeman today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 14 months with a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. Freeman suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Colorado Springs Pioneers are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Freeman's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. This season, Freeman has fashioned a 16-14 mark and 3.94 ERA in 258.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .281 against him and he has logged 70 strikeouts. |   |
