 | Evelsizer Reaches 1000 Wednesday, August 23rd , 1916 The box score from yesterday's game will show that St. Paul beat the Des Moines Browns, 10-4. It will also show that third baseman Rob Evelsizer went 4-for-5 for the Crusaders. It will not show, however, that Evelsizer reached the 1000-hit mark for his career. The 30-year-old Evelsizer reflected on the achievement after the game. He mused: "In one respect, it's a real milestone, I guess. Yet, it's just a base hit like any other base hit." Lifetime Evelsizer has played in 982 games, batted .274 with 26 home runs and 1000 base hits. |   |
