 | Red Caps Not Competitive in 11-0 Loss to Fort Wayne Thursday, April 26th , 1917 In a remarkable performance, Fort Wayne Warriors starter Jack Bendlin beat the Indianapolis Red Caps, 11-0, in an impressive 2-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Warriors hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Indianapolis manager George Gaslin said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." This year, Bendlin has a 2-2 mark in 5 starts with a 4.04 ERA. He has given up 29 hits in 35.2 innings, struck out 19 and issued 12 walks.
