| Kotarski Untouchable, Tosses No-Hitter Friday, May 16th , 1975 Excitement reigned at Peachtree Stadium as Atlanta Copperheads hurler Jack Kotarski tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the Chicago Chiefs, 5-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Kotarski said. "Today I just went right at the Chiefs as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Kotarski, who finished 5th in the FA in innings pitched with 259.2 in 1967, chalked up 5 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Atlanta manager Don Fox.
This season, Kotarski has rung up 3 wins and 3 losses in 7 games. He has an ERA of 2.29 and has fanned 32 batters in 55 innings.
