New York Shuts Out Montreal Behind Alfano, 7-0
Sunday, May 4th , 1975
John Alfano was in a mood to talk following the New York Imperials contest against the Montreal Saints, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Saints, 7-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Alfano said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The right-hander blanked Montreal on a 2-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 6 strikeouts.

Alfano has made 6 starts, tossed 41.1 innings, struck out 20 batters and walked 21. His record is 3-2 with a 3.27 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .219 batting average.
