| Parker on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Boston Friday, April 11th , 1975 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Andy Parker, it came around today.
The 35-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Liberty Coliseum to pace the 12-3 Philadelphia Keystones victory over the Boston Minutemen.
Boston skipper Dode Edwards told reporters in the press room that "Parker deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Parker hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Andy Parker hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
