Heinie Spitler, the San Francisco Sailors 22-year-old second baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Continental Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 23 at-bats, compiling a .522 average with no home runs and 4 RBIs. Spitler is batting .366 this year with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
