This offseason, George Skinner took his game to another level by achieving a significant increase in his pitching velocity. After spending months fine-tuning his mechanics and focusing on explosive strength, Skinner has emerged with a noticeable bump in speed, positioning him for a strong year with the Portland Green Sox organization.

Working closely with the team's performance staff, George Skinner revamped his training regimen, focusing on building power from the ground up. Through targeted strength training, mobility work, and explosive movement drills, he was able to speed up his delivery and add torque. The results? A primary pitch that now regularly hits new highs, with his secondary pitches gaining more life and movement as well.

“I’ve put in a lot of work this offseason to push my velocity higher, and it’s been amazing to see that pay off,” George Skinner said. “I feel stronger, and my stuff has more bite. I’m excited to see how this translates to games.”

With his velocity jump, George Skinner may now be poised to take on a larger role on the team, and certainly gives the Portland Green Sox something to think about. As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on him to see how his improved velocity plays against live hitters.
