Washington-Houston Announce Deal

Washington and Houston have agreed in principle to a trade. The Eagles will send 32-year old LF Wally Austin to the Comets for 21-year old minor league CF Gil Armstrong and 23-year old minor league RHP Mel Gordon. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly and the clubs will be introducing their new players to the press when the paperwork is complete.


In his career, Austin has played in 812 games, batted .240 with 50 home runs and 465 base hits.
