 | Imperials Swap Williams to Sailors for Richardson Wednesday, October 23rd , 1974 In a hastily called press conference, New York announced today a trade with San Francisco that will send 32-year old LHP Chief Williams and 18-year old minor league 1B Leon Holton to the Sailors in exchange for 26-year old 1B Woody Richardson. All players are expected to be in their respective new cities in time for today's games. His career mark is 48 victories and 58 defeats. Williams also has struck out 682 batters and compiled a 4.42 ERA. Over his career Richardson is batting .260 with 11 home runs and 72 RBIs. In 256 games he has delivered 161 hits, scored 62 runs, stolen 0 bases and gotten on base at a .318 clip. |   |
