 | Ouch! Charlie Sanders Shelved by Injury Monday, September 16th , 1974 Injuries are something every team has to deal with. That fact struck home for the Cougars when after today's game against the Kings, the club found out they would be without the services of Charlie Sanders for at least 6 months. After the game, his manager said of the incident, "You hate to lose anyone to injury. That's always a negative." Sanders was injured earlier today colliding with a player at a base and suffered a broken bone in the elbow. In his 1974 season totals, Sanders has 15 home runs, .298 BA, .348 OBP, 81 RBIs and 47 runs scored. |   |
