Filo, McKnight Swap Clubs
Monday, December 18th , 1961
It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Boston Minutemen and Philadelphia Keystones finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Boston's 25-year old LF Del Filo and $12,000 in cash to Philadelphia in a swap for 25-year old RHP Fred McKnight and 24-year old minor league LF Howie Taylor. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow.

In his career, Filo is hitting .290 with 171 hits, 36 home runs, 81 runs scored and 99 RBIs.

McKnight has allowed opponents a batting average of .273 throughout his career and he has rung up 223 strikeouts in 336.2 innings, while registering 11 saves in 130 games. His record is 22 wins-16 losses with a 4.22 ERA.
