Los Angeles's Dewey Allcock Suffers Setback
Friday, December 15th , 1961
The Los Angeles Stars plan to take it slow with starting pitcher Dewey Allcock, knowing that his recovery from a torn rotator cuff would likely include a few bumps in the road. A team spokesman told BNN, "Dewey has up days and down days. It's still a process. He was feeling really good and then he had a step back. The doctors say it will be about 4 months before he can be activated."

Since joining the league, Allcock has compiled an ERA of 3.59 with a career record of 40-27. He has 356 strikeouts in 619.1 innings and has held opponents to a .263 batting average.
