 | CA Pitcher of the Month Goes to Martinez Sunday, September 1st , 1974 Jose Martinez will be bringing August's Continental Association Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Montreal. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping. Martinez started 6 games, going 5-1 with 28 strikeouts in 47 innings as he compiled his 0.19 ERA.
