| Federal Association Picks Skipper of the Year Monday, October 30th , 1961 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Don Fox, he seems to have taken the Philadelphia Keystones to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Federal Association for leading the team to a very rewarding season.
"Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way."
Fox led Philadelphia to a first place finish in the Federal Association. The Keystones ended up with a 97-57 record. | | |
