This year's outstanding newcomer has been selected and the honor goes to the Detroit rookie Ray Waggoner -- the recipient of the 1961 Federal Association Kellogg Award.

The talented Dynamos left fielder took the trophy by hitting .317 in 152 games this season and finished with 184 hits, 30 home runs, 100 RBIs and 97 runs scored.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Andy Parker of the Philadelphia Keystones finished second in voting, while Tom Brizzolara of the New York Gothams finished third.
