Philadelphia, Detroit Trade Players Friday, October 20th , 1961 The Keystones and Dynamos announced a deal that was completed today. Philadelphia sent 18-year old minor league LHP Monte Evans to Detroit for 40-year old minor league RHP Jackie James. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for all parties involved.
To date James has posted a career 129-108 record with 28 saves. The 40-year-old has rung up 975 strikeouts, has a 3.78 ERA and has allowed teams to hit .250 against him.
