 | Reimer Silences Toronto, 3-0 Sunday, September 9th , 1917 The Toronto Beavers struggled at the plate against Grays hurler Fred Reimer, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete-game 3-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Beavers skipper Máximo Rios in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Reimer finished the game with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Cleveland manager Will Jackson said. "Fred made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." Reimer has gone 16-15 this season with an ERA of 1.93 and 135 strikeouts in 265.2 innings pitched.
