The 1961 season won't involve a playoff run for the club, as Toronto was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. Toronto last appeared in the postseason in 1940. This is their 21st consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 65 times in their 70-year history.
