 | Triantos Shines, Shuts Out Baltimore, 2-0 Thursday, August 9th , 1917 Cleveland Grays starter Lou Triantos really did a number on the Baltimore Cannons, shutting them out, 2-0, on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 1 strikeout. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Baltimore manager Monty Beatson. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Triantos." In 27 starts this year, Triantos has recorded a 12-14 record and a 2.06 ERA. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights | |
