| FABL Approves Boston Sale to Scouten Thursday, October 19th , 1916 Everything points to a new day in Boston after it was announced that the Boston Beacons had been acquired by financier and investment magnate Phil Scouten.
The FABL commissioner said the sale had been approved by the league owners, and the new owner was introduced at a press conference today at Beacon Park.
The Boston Beacons are fresh off a third-place finish this season. They compiled a 81-73 mark in the Union League. Scouten boasted to the press corps, "All my life, everything I've touched has turned to gold. I expect the Boston Beacons to be the best baseball organization in the league and will work tirelessly toward that end." | | |
