24-year-old Dode Caudill sent shock waves through Federally Aligned Baseball Leagues last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Continental Association Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Caudill made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .565 average, 13 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBI.

Where the Chicago Cougars left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Caudill certainly made his mark last week.

Thus far in 1963, Caudill is hitting .326 with 24 home runs, 80 RBIs, 126 runs scored and has compiled a .389 OBP.
