Eagles Ball Lost for Year
Friday, August 2nd , 1963
When Bob Ball was hurt against the Chicago Chiefs, the Washington Eagles were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 24-year-old starting pitcher suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Ball would miss 9 months of the season.

So far this season, Ball has 13 wins and 3 losses and a 3.03 ERA.
