Toronto Wolves left fielder Chick Reed put on a dazzling display of power at Golden Gate Stadium against the San Francisco Sailors. In the 13-10 Wolves victory, Reed penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," San Francisco manager Chris Beck said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 27-year-old had 3 hits in 7 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Reed said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Chick Reed struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Sam Franklin in the 8th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Larry Knez in the 8th, flied out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Eddie Whitney in the 13th.

For the year, Reed is hitting .313 with 22 home runs. His stats include 54 runs batted in and 55 runs scored.
