 | Pittsburgh Swaps Alexander to Dallas for Miller Monday, July 1st , 1963 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Miners announced today the acquisition of 31-year old RHP Clarence Miller and $22,900 in cash from the Dallas Wranglers in exchange for 18-year old minor league SS Frank Alexander and 24-year old minor league RHP Charlie Boyd. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Miners, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." To date this year, Miller has won 1 and lost 2 with a 3.31 ERA, 2 saves and 10 strikeouts in 27 relief appearances. |   |
