He hammered them for 195 hits, 32 doubles, 5 triples, 31 home runs, 107 RBIs and scored 111 times. That kind of output made him the choice for Federal Association Whitney Award for 1975.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jack Blair of the Atlanta Copperheads finished second in voting, while Sam Forrester of the Los Angeles Suns finished third.
