The Houston Comets have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Jay Hunt, this year's Federal Association Allen Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Hunt compiled a 13-10 record in 33 starts, tallied 144 strikeouts in 228.2 innings and recorded a 2.40 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .235 batting average against him.

He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 24. Johnny Blackburn of the Houston Comets finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Marco Middleton of the Atlanta Copperheads finished third with 3 first place votes.
