 | Abernathy Takes Top CA Manager Honors Sunday, October 26th , 1975 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Jim Abernathy, he seems to have taken the New York Imperials to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the Continental Association for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Abernathy led New York to a first place finish in the Continental Association East. The Imperials ended up with a 84-78 record. |   |
