Drake Receives CA Kellogg Award

It was a very productive rookie season for New York second baseman Owen Drake. He made the club, made the starting lineup, then in the regular season put up numbers impressive enough that the Continental Association presented him the league's Kellogg Award for 1975.

It was a season to remember for the 25-year-old Imperials newcomer. In addition to hitting .268, Drake played in 140 games and collected 17 home runs, 61 RBIs and 60 runs scored.

He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 24. Bill Bartlett of the Chicago Cougars finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Charlie Jarzombek of the San Francisco Sailors finished third.
