 | Cronin, Middlefield Swap Clubs Friday, October 17th , 1975 BNN has learned the Baltimore Clippers have reportedly worked out a deal with the Houston Comets. Sources close to the Clippers indicated that a trade has been reached in principle where 20-year old minor league 3B Claude Middlefield will be swapped to Baltimore with 33-year old RHP Davey Cronin heading to Houston. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying it was club policy not to speak about a trade until it was finalized. For his career, Cronin has picked up 105 wins and 104 losses with 78 saves, a 3.84 ERA and 1113 strikeouts in 1721.1 innings. |   |
