 | Smith Shuts Out Kansas City, 4-0 Wednesday, September 24th , 1975 In a remarkable performance, Dallas Wranglers starter Ed Smith beat the Kansas City Mavericks, 4-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Wranglers hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and 3 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Kansas City manager Bob Bendick said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
