More Woes for Cougars Jack Gibson
Thursday, December 6th , 1962
Chicago Cougars second baseman Jack Gibson informed reporters that he will be missing additional time because of a setback in his recovery from a ruptured medial collateral ligament. "It's a bit frustrating, sure," Gibson admitted. "I want to be out on the field. At the same time, I don't want to make things worse and miss even more time because I'm pushing it too hard." Cougars doctors told BNN Gibson would not return for 5 weeks.

In his career, Gibson has gotten 493 hits with a .291 batting average, scored 272 runs, hit 123 home runs and driven in 353.
