The season is finished for John Lewis of the Boston Minutemen. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Minutemen starting pitcher suffered a bone spur in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Washington Eagles. Team doctors said it would take at least 6 months to heal.

Lewis has made 0 starts so far this year and put up a 0-1 won-lost record with a 4.71 ERA. In 42 innings he has allowed 51 hits, walked 23 and struck out 18.
