 | Newcomer of the Month Picked Monday, September 1st , 1975 When it came to hitting the baseball, Lou Strader had few peers in the Federal Association last month. The gifted first baseman for Detroit tagged opposing pitchers for a .367 average and was voted the Rookie of the Month for August. Included in his stats were 40 hits, 6 homers, 17 runs scored and 15 RBIs. Thus far this season, Strader has hit .330 with 18 home runs, 56 RBIs and scored 67 times. |   |
