 | FL Best Newcomer Trophy Awarded Wednesday, July 1st , 1914 Mike Nipp is living a dream. Not only did he net the Federal League's Rookie of the Month Award today, but the 24-year-old has put together a string of starts that has everybody talking all the league. In the month of June the St. Louis starter was 6-1 as he put up a 0.58 ERA. He also totaled 24 strikeouts in 61.2 innings, while holding opponents to a .168 average. Pretty good stats for a rookie. This season, Nipp has 11 wins and 5 losses and a 1.27 ERA. |   |
