Stars Smith Out Rest Of Season
Friday, June 20th , 1975
The season is apparently over for Lew Smith. The Los Angeles Stars medical staff informed the club that the shortstop will be out at least 5 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Smith was hurt in the game against San Francisco while throwing the ball. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.

This year, Smith is batting .270 with 69 hits, 8 home runs, 33 RBIs, 25 walks, .332 OBP and has scored 32 runs.
