Philadelphia Loses, 2-1, to Detroit in 10 | The Detroit Dynamos banked on Paul Anderson and he turned in a masterful performance. The left-hander kept the Philadelphia hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Dynamos. Reliever Earl Shields picked up the win. His record improves to 6-6. Joe Potts, who finished 5th in the FA in strikeouts with 125 in 1952, took the loss. With the win, Detroit pushed its record to 52-34.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Detroit. That's when Bill Morrison, who is tied for 8th in the FA in stolen bases with 6, hit a solo home run off Joe Potts to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
