Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Keystones
The game was a shootout. To win it, the Philadelphia Keystones had to outpace the Washington Eagles. The final score was 13-9, Keystones. Neither team lacked hitting stars. For Philadelphia, third baseman Charlie Taylor was the foremost. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win has Philadelphia at 13-20.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Taylor hit a knuckle curve from Don Maguire for a grand slam home run. The Keystones, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Philadelphia manager Charlie Leist.
