| St. Louis Tacks 4-1 Loss on New York | The St. Louis Pioneers beat the New York Gothams, 4-1, at Pioneer Field III. Quinton Vincent, who finished 3rd in the FA in RBI with 96 in 1972, starred for St. Louis. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Roy McDonald closed the door for St. Louis, picking up his 8th save of the year. St. Louis has run its win streak to 6 straight.
Vincent had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 curveball from Bunny Mullins, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Pioneers a 3-1 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Vincent.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Vincent.
