The Boston Minutemen overcame a pretty good performance by New York catcher Earl Ferry, beating the Gothams, 4-3, at Minuteman Stadium. Ferry went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Walt Portelli in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Curtis Robinson took the loss. The victory gives Boston a record of 23-14.

Boston pinch hitter Hal Mazur helped the Minutemen go up, 3-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Mazur hit a 2-run single off New York pitcher Curtis Robinson.

Mazur said his team "played with focus and determination."
