| Wolves Deal Arrows 3-1 Defeat | Toronto turned a good effort from starter Al Bailey into a win over the Milwaukee Arrows at Dominion Stadium. The final score was 3-1. In 5 innings, Bailey surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The save was credited to Ray Smith, his 9th.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Wolves had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman John Baab hit a 2-run single. The single came off Mel Maddox and made the score 3-0, Wolves. Baab went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Toronto manager Carl Evans said.
With the victory, the Wolves upped their record to 19-18. | |
