Padgett Lifts Chiefs to 16-9 Win
The Chicago Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 16-9. Catcher Al Padgett deserved a large share of the credit. Padgett went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Chiefs. Chicago is now 45-43, Pittsburgh 46-42.

Gene Rader, who is tied for 7th in the FA in RBI with 61, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Padgett said. "We did a good job of that today."
