| With 4-3 Win, Imperials Go to 20-15 | Howie Weston, the first overall pick in the 1966 draft, propelled his team to victory over the Cincinnati Cannons. The final score was 4-3, New York. Mike Dunlavy picked up the win in relief for New York, while Milo Kennedy took the loss. Ed Cooper was credited with the save for New York, his 8th of the season.
Jake Poole went 1 for 4 for New York. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Poole, who is tied for 8th in the CA in stolen bases with 7, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Cincinnati hurler Ed Tisdale, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Imperials a 4-3 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
