Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Hal Kennedy, who is tied for 8th in the CA with a .941 OPS, the Cleveland Foresters defeated the Montreal Saints, 9-1. Cleveland, at 36-21, is 3½ games up in the Continental Association.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Kennedy hit a 2-run home run. It thrust the Foresters into the lead, 2-0.
"We didn't put our best foot forward tonight," said losing manager Lynn Gray.
