The San Francisco Sailors picked up a win at Golden Gate Stadium, dropping the Chicago Cougars, 2-1. Jim Teal, who is tied for 3rd in the CA in wins with 5, was the difference-maker. The current losing streak for Chicago has reached 4 games.
San Francisco went in front, 2-1, on Pete Gibson's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Gibson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Bob Goldman visibly perturbed.
