| Kelley Humbles Detroit, 2-0 | The Baltimore Cannons did little to support starter Jeff Kelley against the Detroit Lancers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Lancers, striking out 2 and surrendering 4 hits. The performance from Kelley allowed Baltimore to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Jeff, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Kelley told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
