Foresters Earn Late Win
The Cleveland Foresters racked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, bumping off the New York Imperials, 3-2, in 13 innings. Roy Rice, who started for Cleveland, pitched effectively for his team. Charlie Sawyer earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Alex Rutherford closed the game out for Cleveland, earning his 1st save.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Frank Chandler to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Foresters on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I can't say enough about Roy," said Cleveland manager Ray Parsons. "He stepped up when we needed him."

New York is now 1-7.
