| Saints Beaten, 6-1, by Foresters | Dick Couture brought his A-game to help Cleveland defeat the Montreal Saints, 6-1. Couture got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Saints fall to 13-20 and continue to sputter in the early going.
With Cleveland leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Couture hit a changeup from John Roberts for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 4-0.
In comments to the Cleveland Observer, Couture admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
