Keystones Trump Chiefs, 13-9 | The Philadelphia Keystones powered past the Chicago Chiefs, 13-9, at Broad Street Park II. Harry Dellinger went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times, to lead the charge. Philadelphia is in 7th place in the Federal Association with a record of 39-44.
Fred Davis had a big 2-run triple for the Keystones in the bottom of the first inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Dick Champ, who finished 2nd in the FA in strikeouts with 196 in 1957, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keystones ahead, 3-0.
