| Comets Reel In 4-2 Win | The Houston Comets picked up a win at Hennepin County Stadium, knocking off the Minneapolis Millers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jay Hunt played a key role in the triumph. Hunt yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-1. Earning his 4th save for Houston was Bob Young.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jim Marshall? The Houston third baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Comets on top, 3-1. For the game, Marshall had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Marshall after the game.
Houston is now 23-12, Minneapolis 15-19. | |
