| Chicago Pins 6-3 Loss on Los Angeles | The Chicago Chiefs got a strong performance from pitcher Augie Hicks, who stymied the visiting Los Angeles Stars en route to a win, 6-3, in Game 2 of the World Championship Series. The Stars could never get a bead on the right-handed Hicks, who threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Chiefs now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Whitney Park crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"Every team in baseball loses," Stars manager Charley McCullough said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 7th , 1967 at Bigsby Stadium in Los Angeles. | |
