| Kings Fall, 6-1, to Thomsen, Gothams | Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Ted Thomsen, who finished 5th in the FL in extra base hits with 53 last year, the New York Gothams defeated the Brooklyn Kings, 6-1. Tom Gift, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 9 innings. Brooklyn now has a record of 5-7.
With New York leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Thomsen hit a curveball from John Taddeo for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 5-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Thomsen told the New York Daily News.
