| Cooksey Casts Spell Over Omaha, as Bruins Win | Ed Cooksey spun his magic in a shutout victory at Conover Park, 1-0, over the Omaha Plainsmen. The Denver pitcher put quite a spell on Omaha in a strong performance, allowing 4 hits while totaling 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
"I had a lot of good things working in this one," Cooksey said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
